And Then There Were Three

(Diaries of a Single Father)

Piers, Lars and Ian are exceptional brothers whose life is an uplifting modern tale. They live in England but have two mothers who live in America. One is the mother who conceived them; the other is the mother who gave birth to them. Their father, Ian, is single.

Using his diaries, Ian describes how he copes with the enjoyable and at times stressful task of being the surprise father of triplets. Always one hand short, he gives a witty insight into his daily life and the ups and downs of family life and how the children came to be born.

The subject of uninvited media attention, Ian recently agreed to be the subject of a BBC 'One Life' documentary so that they would use their resources to track down his sons' biological mother previously known only to him by her code number.

This book was first published by Gibson Square Books in 2006. It takes the story from the inception of the idea to the moment when the boys travelled to America to meet their mothers for the first time where they also happened to meet their four unborn siblings.  The diary continues to be written.
